HVAC Optimisation
Optimisation of heating and ventilation systems is a "bread and butter" saving technique for us.
We have developed alternative control programmes to save energy, and maintain a comfortable environment in all types of buildings.
Building Dynamics
The majority of sites possess some kind of building management system, unfortunately it has been hard to find any that are used to their fullest capacity.
Additionally, there are few companies which are able to push the envelope further by understanding building dynamics, and reducing HVAC load to its safe minimum.
We estimate that a cut of 8% in HVAC costs is an achievable average for most buildings, and can often be much higher, if there are underlying issues such as poor quality install, poor maintenance, no inverters etc.
The quality of new buildings should also be questioned; there are savings here too!
Common HVAC Problems
- Poorly calibrated sensors
- Poorly located sensors
- Dampers not functioning correctly
- Time clocks not set up
- Fans running 24/7
- Inverters not modulating
- Filters blocked
- Inefficient software control routines
As part of the HVAC optimisation process we are also able to tell you what other energy reduction projects can be completed, such as installation of motor drives, heat pumps, heat recovery, new fans etc....
Generally, HVAC projects will return investment in 1 - 3 years, and can also give you a more comfortable and better rated building (EPC/DEC).
